hi all,

Can anyone sugest me how to calculate consumption for quantity less than prod. order qty. if output is not posted for that order.

    From consumption journal use function calc. consumption and on the options tab mark calculation based on excpected quantity.

    The choices are expected and actual. If you have reported no output what are you basing the calculation on? This means actual would calculate nothing and expected would be for the full quantity. On the production journal the consumption is calcualted on the amount remaining and you can manually alter this, depends what you are trying to achieve and why really.

    It means Navision allows skiping of consumption journal , in other words finished goods can be sold out from the factory without having components in the stock and system does not enforce the consumption of component in order to complete the production of an item. If this is the case , there should be provision for production order reconcileation to reconcile the component consumed against the produced quantity. Please suggest your understanding.
