Hi,
We would like to upgrade our navision 3.60 native to sql server 2008. This will be not a full upgrade. but only data store upgrade.
We are also planning to switch the servers. Now windows2008 is out. We want to use this instead of buying 2003.
Is navision ready for Server 2008?
Thanks in advance.

Because 3.60 is not compatible with MS SQL 2005, I assume that it is not compatible with SQL 2008 too. You will need to do technical upgrade to NAV 4.00SP3 to be able to use MS SQL 2005, with SQL 2008 NAV is not tested yet.
Same for WIndows 2008...0 -
Windows server 2008 have the same codebase has Windows Vista. Only NAV 4.0 SP3 run on Windows Vista, so 3.60 it won’t run in Window 2008.0

3.6 is not supported anymore, so it will not be supported on a new operating system either.0

Any news on this? My customer wants to install NAV 4.0 SP3 on Windows Server 2008Navision developer0

The NAV 5.0 client (no SP1) works on a SQL 2k5 and Windows 2k8
Can't seem to install NAS no 2 as a service though. Access Denied (yes, very admin)
ETA:
The first NAS is installed through the Windows Installer and works perfectly. THe next coupla NAS:es are to be installed using nassql installassservice but I get access denied.0 -
NAV 4.0 SP3 and NAS (4.0 SP3) seem to run OK on Windows Server 2008.Navision developer0

Hello,
have you tested this on Win2008 with x64? or x32?
our sys-admin wants to migrate our NAV 4.2 to Windows 2008 x64.. (on SQL2005)..
but I feel not very confident about this..
any experiences for that?
bye

We started using Win 2008 TS since last friday with NAV2009 CTP3 classic client. This seems to work fine.
If you are running NAV on SQL then the support and issues with SQL on win2008 are more important than NAV on win2008.
Maybe you can ask on SQL forums as wel for experiences.
I would never recomend to use this combination until SP1 unless you have a really good reason.
What is the reason?0 -
