Hi,

Navision returns the build number in the message box when I double-click on the 'Version 3.60....' line of the About window (Help->About Microsoft Navision Attain). WHat does the number represent?

Thks...

    The build no.

Everytime a programmer (in denmark) changes something to the Navision sourcecode the build no. increases. It's somekind of version code.

I think (not sure) the build of every specific Navision version is the same. So every Navision 3.70 version have the same build. If this is not true, I think it should be...

    Thks eromein...

when u mention abt the build of Navision, r u refering to the version number of Navision application (the fin.exe file) or the database version number (W13.70 with Hotfix 14)??

    Nice feature
I didn't know that you can get the build no by double click on the version no in the about box.

The build no changes every time when the fin.exe changes. This is the case in some Hotfixes.
Without the information you have no chance to find out which runtime version of the fin.exe you use.

    Note:
This is not the ApplicationBuild from Codeunit 1!
It is the Version No. from the fin.exe (which you also can see if you right click on the fin.exe in the Windows Explorer).

The build number is simply displayed from Codeunit 1. If Navision changes the number in Codeunit 1 as the result of installing a Service Pack or Improvement, then it changes what is displayed. It doesn't necessarily mean a change in fin.exe.

    That's wrong!

I've tested this and this is the version No. from the fin.exe and not the ApplicationBuild from the Codeunit 1.
