Display Spanish characters in UK Database

I have a client in London, just purchased a Spanish company and they need to be able to import the customers addresses and then display the accented characters properly.

I can see the data in Excel is OK but when I import and check in Nav 4 sp3 I get alternate characters.
C/ Romeria del RocÝo 7
C/ Romeria del Rocio 7
(The i is accented)

Any help here please as I am also going to import from other countries where the accented characters are used.

The server is SQL. but I need to see this working on a stand-alone XP based portable as well.
