Upgradation to service pack

I want to upgrade a highly customized database to another service pack.how to do so??

As in each upgrade: compare old base version with new base version and transfer the changes into old customized version creating new customized version. There is no other way. Question is, if you will do the job yourselfs or you use some else to do that for you...
