I have managed to get a comprehensive list of the tariff number and am tying to import them into table 260 of V5.
Its just a simple import dataport of the no. and description.
Every time i run the dataport i get the error "You should enter a number in this field."
Any ideas what may be wrong?
Many thanks in advance.

Does your data file have a header row?
if so it's trying to import "No." into the Number field.
there are a few posts describing how to bypass the first row of a datafile.

second,
Are there any comma's in your data file's description you are trying to import.
for example if you are trying to import a CSV and another part of the file contains a comma - it's will throw the import off

Work anywhere I may know?
The tariff field has to be numeric, so if it is nothing Harry has suggested check your data for a non-numeric code, probably prefixed or something.
I checked back through the data and narrowed the problem down to quotation, speech, marks in the description.
Once removed the dataport ran a treat.
So if anyone would like a copy of the tariff, let me know.
Thanks again.

P.s. I work for Paul Murray Plc in Chandlers Ford. Dont expect you've heard of it?
Strangely I have worked for one of the resellers originally in the door (not the winner) and spoke to Paul Murray the other week after he called into my new office!
