Create a new user for security setup without super role!

Hey guys,

Is there a way to setup a special user that can be used to configurate Navision permission like adding new users, adding new roles, adding new permissions, but adding super user is forbidden?

I need to assign an user for IT department to maintain Navision permission setup, but some confidential imformation from the database should be invisible for that user. The problem is if that user can create new user for normal perople who are from financial department, he can create a similar user for himself, running out of idea now....

Has anybody done that before? :D

If he needs to be able to add new users, he can add a super-user..
    So that will not work..
So he can't have rights to add users. Somebody else has to do that.

Maybe you can create new forms for assigning roles and permissions. And program he can't add permissions to his own USERID.
And don't give him permission for System Tools, security.

    Good Idea!

Actually I was suffering in crzay security filter and never thought about getting it done outside of build-in security entry.

    Thanks! :D

If you use the standard role SECURITY, you can work as you described, but you cannot assign higher permissions than your own account have. It means, you can assign just the roles, you are member, to other users.

That can be convenient when you let a manager set up the permissions for his own department.
