Account Translation

Hello everybody,

I got a problem with account translation. I have an account called Rounding, when I post an invoice, the system automatically count amount of rounding and put another line to the invoice, so the total amount is rounded. My problem is that I have a report called Order confirmation, where this automatic rounding line is shown as well. Everything is OK, but when the order is in other language, description of this line is still in English. So I need to translate the description of account, for example Rounding in English is Rundung in German language. Does anybody have some idea?

Thanx

I think this is the way to do what you want.

Go to the item on your section and view its properties.

There are two property fields one is Caption and the other is CaptionML.

Select CaptionML (ML = Multi language) then click the assist button to the right of the property.

This opens your Mutli Language editior.

Click in an empty language cell, select DEU then in the value cell enter the German translation.

Now hopefully when you are running Attain in German Language "Tools Menu > Language" you should see this description in the appropriate translation.

You must also be licensed for these language modules I believe.

    Cheers

We had a similar problem when one of our clients wanted to have multilingual trial balance and chart of accounts. We created a dummy dimension named GL_ACCOUNTS where dimension value codes are account codes and dimension value name fields contain the account names in English (or German, etc.). We had to modify the reports too.

    Hope this helps.

As you maybe know, Items have the possibility to have translations. I think you should create the same functionality for Accounts. Although this is probably not the quickest way to do it...
