Amending the fin.stx to run Crystal

The desire is to be able to run some Crystal Reports from within Navigator.

Using SHELL works fine but is not a great solution as it would require a separate call for every report.

It occurred to me that adding a Jet Report to the menu is easy because, with its .xls file extension, i.e. it is known to Navigator and causes the OS to invoke Excel to run the file.

So, I’d really like to know if the fin.stx file can be amended to include the .rpt and .rpz file types. It would appear that, if that worked, reports could be added by simply creating a shortcut. Has anyone tried this? Any pitfalls?

If you mean modifying the stx file, I have read some in this forum but did not find any idea how to re-compile it again.

If you have crystal installed it invokes the program when I run a rpt file.

Here's an easy way to list all your crystal reports in nav.
