Is there a new ETA on this? Will the 5.0 upgrade work with this?

You won't miss the sift tables. The learning curve isn't that high and it's actually easier to read views. They are more userfriendly.

Based on the website, sp1 will have it's own upgrade toolkit,, I guess you could compare the objects and maybe make some minor changes and use the old toolkit.
I'd rather wait for the actual toolkit.

Out of the box, I think it will be faster. But I am afraid that the SQLtuning done for SIFT-tables will have to be redone.

How long do you think? I need to perform two updates to 5.0 and like to skip this and go to 5.1

I don't know. SP1 suppose to be released in 1st quarter. And upgrade toolkit are released a couple months after that.
