Large sales post is VERY SLOW

Hi
I was wondering if anybody had experience in very slow performance with Navision Attain 3.70 (sql server option), specifically in sales post and reporting
Our system :
IBM X255 , dual Xeon 3.0 / 2 Mb L-3 Cache
4 * 36 GB 15KRPm disk RAID 10 (SQL Data)
2 * 72 GB 15KRPm disk RAID 1 (system swap)
2 * 72 Gb 15KRPm disk RAID 1 (SQL log)
When we start the batch booking of about 240000 sales post (normally 1 line per posting) it takes about 18 to 20 hours to finish ...
The only thing we can really see is the huge amount of lockings that Navision puts out . When we start a SQL Profiler trace we see about 1 million lock's (acquired + released) per 3 minutes
Anybody any suggestions or clues ...
