Item BOM Vs Kit functionality

What is difference betwen Item BOM and Kit functionality in navision.
please throw some light on this issue. :-k

Kit functionality is pretty much the same theory you just have a lot more fucntioanlity and options to use, Read the Kitting manual that essential shows you what you can do with it.

Kitting uses parts of manufacturing but apparently the granule access those areas even without needing manufacturing , so a business essentials license could use it.
