It's around $4.15 a gallon here in NY.

=€0.71 per liter (1 gallon = 3.7854 liters and €1 = $1.543)

=> what are you complaining about. We pay almost double that price!

In Italy (and I think most of Europe) we are around €1.30 a liter for both benzine (I think that would be gas) and diesel.
That would be $7.59 per gallon!

But about 2/3 of that price are taxes.

today we have a Lite price of 1.60 EURO benzine and 1.52 EURO DIESEL,
so i've sold my Benz because he is a heavy drinker and bought a Opel (Vauxhaul in UK, Saturn in US). I hope fuel cell cars or E-Cars comes .....

I don't know how the situation is (I don't follow both).

yes, in italy diesel and benzine have nearly the same price...but i can't say 4 sure...it's a miracle to have the same price for fuel two days in a row...
