Filter drill down question

I have a report with the reqfilterfiled property polpulated with one field. There is one table in the report. When the report is run the field appears in the table form as expected. If a user types in a selection the report filters properly.

I would like the user to be able to drill into this filter and select from the table when the report is run.

When the user attempts to drill down they get a blank table.

The field in the filter is in the table sort which is also a key for the table.

What am I missing?

It appears that this field needed the show all button pressed to view the look up. It works, but I don't understand why some look ups require this and some do not. I did not have a filter set for this. It requires the show all button to be pressed every time the report is run in order to use the lookup feature for this field.
