Upload licence in Sequal Server

tro#1tro#1 Member Posts: 122
We work with Navison 4.3, Sequal Server database

I was told that when I get a new licence I have to
- store it in a folder which I can reach from the Navision server
- open a client on the Navison server directly
- upload the licence from there.

But as far as I have experiened I can upload the licence from every other client as well.

Does anybody know if the upload have to be done mandatory at the server directly?

Thank you

Whenever, you do an upload, the UPLOAD will take place at the server only in SQL Server. You can do it form any of the client machine, it is not mandatory that you have to do the same in the server machine only. Do ensure you have proper rights to upload a new license file to the server before you perform the upload

The license is uploaded into a table in the Master database, so it doesn't have to be stored in any folder to work. Like Diptish said you can upload the license from any client session, as long as the user has sufficient permissions.

Thank`s a lot for your replies.
That is what I thought but I was not sure. Now I do not have to feel unsecure anymore when I upload the licence somewhere different than from the server.
