Navision WMS: Put away in one UNIT and pick in another ?

hello everyone,

I am having a serious problem in the navision WMS that is preventing us from getting any further in the setup process.

Suppose we have item X and 2 units of measures:

UNIT : base unit : 1
PALLET: 48 UNIT

ITEM X put away unit is PALLET

Navision WMS does not allow us to do the following:

Put away 3 PALLETs of item X, and then ship/pick 6 UNITs of this item.

The pick cannot be created from the shipment.

Is this how navision works ? or are we missing out something in the configuration ?.

Thank you a lot for your time and effort. We really do appreciate.

Regards,

IT sounds as if you will have to explain your scenario step by stepas we will need to know how it is setup.

But to answer your question yes it should allow you to pick an item at a different UOM then the PUT away.

The item card has a Put away UOM but no pick this can be dictated by the selling UOM from the sales order or from your BIN UOM also you can run change UOM function on the pick.

If you can explain your process setup and an example with how this different UOMs are setup we can understand what might be causing the issue

    Hello Jannestig

Make sure in your location card on Bin Policies tab the field Allow Breakbulk checked.

that was the problem. I haven't checked the allow break bulk .
We found it almost at the same time :):)

thank you a lot anyway! I really appreciate your help.

Do you have please any exhaustive book about the setup of the Navision WMS, that includes all the small details such as this one, and how to use the pick and putaway worksheets, ....

    Thanks a lot!

I don't have any books. I'm sure partnersource has them.

Cronus is what I usually lookup for settings. I'm guessing you are using same setup as white location.

    You are welcome btw. :)
