Problems with nTimer.dll on Win Server 2003 x64 Ed

maschmasch Member Posts: 8
Hi,

I'm running NAV 4.0 SP3 with SQL-Server 2005 on a Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition. I have installed the NAV-Client and the NAS. The problem is, that the Navision Timer (nTimer.dll) ist not installed/registered by installation programm(s).

If I try to register this dll "by hand" I get the german message "ntimer.dll ist nicht eine ausführbare Datei und es ist kein Registrierungshilfeprogramm für diesen Dateityp egistriert" which could b be translated like "ntimer.dll is a not executable file and there is no registry help program for this file type registered"

Can anyone help?

Please, never run 32 bit app's on your x64 box. They can seriously slow down your system.

Buy a "cheap" pc and use that for running the NAS.

    yes I used regsvr32

but now I "solved" the problem in that way: I copied the nTimer.dll to directory "c:\program files (x86)\Common Files\Navision\Timer" and called the regsvr32 from this directory ... and it worked.

I will consider your hint if I feel the system goes slow.

    Thank You!
