I've find a couple of bugs... how can I get answers?

I've found two errors in Attain 3.60 (Italian).

I have checked with my NSC and in turn they have notified Microsoft.

Microsoft has aknowledged the two issues (one is peculiar to the Italian way of evaluating the inventory, the second one really seems an error in VAT processing when entering receivables from the purchase journals).

Microsoft says they have forwarded the requests to the development teams (Danish and Italian) and they don't know if and when a fix will be available.

I need those fixes (specially the inventory one) and I don't like don't like paying my NSC to fix errors in MBS code and then paying it again to
remove its corrections and implement MBS's patches.

What should I do now?

Regards,
Simone

    you have the following options:

1.) Ask if sombody on mibuso already fixed it.
2.) Wait till MBS fix the bugs.
3.) Try to charge M$ with the making of a bad product.
4.) Ignore you feelings and double pay. Maybe you can get the money back from M$, but I doubt it...

    Hi,

You would need to wait for the patch from Microsoft. I would not recommend you to fix the bug because you might fix in one way and Microsoft may fix the bug in a different way and at the time of upgrade you would run into issues.

but then again... if it must be fixed, it must be fixed!

What is their policy on fixes?
Do they consider change requests/bugfix requests? If so, what is the average
time I have to wait? (You know sometimes a guy comes in asking for the inventory value.... and he's a bit disappointed when he finds out that production items are not covered...)

I don't really can't stand them saying yes we have a problem, we'll let you know.

I don't want to write my own fixes (If I am not mistaken, I pay a yearly fee for this...)

    I think you are mistaken.

You're not paying to get thoses bugs fixed, you are paying to get the fix for free when it's release.

Same as opdates. You pay to get the latest update for free. You do not pay to get the latest update integrated into you database.

but who's in charge of solving my issue then? MBS or NSC?

beyond that, you are saying they are not responsible for their program not following regulations? is it really so?

    bye,

I think M$ has this pretty much covert in their agreements and disclaimers.

I'm not saying they are not responcible for theur program not following regulation. I'm saying they are not responcible for bugs in the program.... I think... I;m not sure if this is true, but I think this is covert in the disclaimers.

M$ is in charge of fixing the bugs. Unless you want to be sure you get them or you need them on a short notice.

You basically buy the program the way that it is, which means that they say that yes there may be bugs but they never said there weren't, so that covers them. If there is a problem that they acknowledge is a bug, they will fix it, and if you're on the upgrade program, you will get the fix without any extra charges. Because they have their QA procedures (just like you do for the product that you carry), it doesn't always goes as fast as you'd like.

Then there is the additional issue of modifications to your database, and if those will interfere with the improvements. Surely you understand that MS (or your NSC for that matter) is not responsible for integrating the improvements into a modified system for free.
