Hi,

I have been using Navision within our company for just under 6 months now and I am now getting into the nitty gritty of report writing.

I am starting to go past the basics and now I feel I need to read further documentation to help me create more complex/advanced reports.

Could someone provide me with some useful links on report writing tutorials/guides that may be of use.

Cheers
Jim

    Hi Jim

On the Navision CD, you should be able to find a PDF file "w1w1Adg" "Applications Designer Guide" this will go someway to help you. Also on some versions you will find the PDF files "C/AL Guid" and "GUI Guide".

One of the best ways to learn is look at existing reports and see how they have been developed, and use the Online help if you don't understand the commands.

Maybe you could ask you solution center for a training session in report design.

Yeah - at a big cost!

    Cheers.

I will take a look at the suggested guides.

I don't know that is such a big cost.

Get a days worth of training and save the developements of dozends of reports.

I'm almost absolutely sure you will earn this back on very short notice. And off-course there are always report you have to farm out. But that's something you can do without.

    good luck!

    Hi Jim

As Emiel said go for a days training in Report design.

How many reports do you intend to develop?

Ask your solution centre how much they would charge for writing that number of reports, then compare that to what they would charge for a days training.
