Best moment to adjust cost item entries

Hi there,
Can anyone told me what is the best moment to run adjust cost item entries? the adjustment entry, as well in NAV 4 is same as shipment date. But if the shipment dates are not in range of Allow Posting From, the system use the date on this utility (Closed Period Entry Posting Date). I'm afraid that it will bring an effect on Sales Analysis in case of the Periodic Report has been printed and reported and then they run ACIE. If ACIE is done in the next period, it also make a missunderstanding between the sales amount and COGS amount.
