NAV4.00 Continuos Installation Required...

ebsoftebsoft Member Posts: 81
This thing is driving me crazy..
I've just installed NAV4.00. I've gotta work with Outlook Integration.

I've set a Salesperson with my userid enabling Outlook Syncronization.
Outlook profile and file directory are correctly set.

Everytime I open Navision Client, it opens the MBS Navision Installation form, performing various operations, and it takes minutes before I can start working on.
Everytime I try to synchronize contacts.. same thing!

I'm desperate.. Please help me.

Some information:
Client NAV 4.0 Sql
DB on Sql Server 2000
O.S. Windows Vista Ultimate

Thank you very much in advance.

Federico B.

    O.S. Windows Vista Ultimate

Vista have different settings of permissions in "Program Files" directory. Add write permissions to client folder for authenticated users or another group you are member of, and try it again. It is "side-effect" of UAC.

Sorry, my mistake. It is not because UAC but because the different security settings. Even as Administrator you have no permissions to write into Program files. Just trusted installer and system can do that. Add you account and add permissions for yourselfs on the folder.

    I've found a way..

The problem was multiple installations of NAV Clients.

I just uninstalled NAV 5.00 and it works correctly!

If you install 4.0 SP3 with the Vista platform rollup, and then 5.0 they should both work properly on Vista Ultimate. NAV 5.0 can be installed as a separate instance without affecting other installations. I know, because I am on Vista Ultimate, and I have both 4.0 SP3 and 5.0 working, and I ran both of them through the installer.
