I have a real simple report i wrote in crystal report. But when i set up a date time parameter field, it only pulls the first date in the parameter. if i run it with no parameter, i get all the data.
has anyone had this problem before, if so how can i resolve this so thati can use a data time field parameter.

I've used Date Type & Time Type seperately never a DateTime.
Do you have a table name that actually has a field that uses Datetime So I can try it out?
One thing I would look at is go into the Field Explorer, right click on your DateTime field & browse it. See what the data looks like and that your formatting it properly when entering it into your parameter.
Is this a new table or is this a new field added to an existing table?0 -
its the G\L Entry table. field is Posting Date
i imported it into access and its not a DateTime field. But in Crystal, when i brows the data, it comes accross as a DateTime Field. In NAVision, when i look at the table field its only a date field.
why would crystal want it to be a DateTime field. Also all the times are set to 12:00AM when browsing the data.
Very Odd!- So it Goes.0 -
another thing
if i import into access (which shows it as a Date field) save the new access databese with just the G/L Entry table and then pull the PostingDate in a new report with just the new Access database i created, it comes accross as DateTime Field.
something in Crystal is makig it think its a DateTime Field. Is there somewhere in Crystal i can tell it its only a Date field?- So it Goes.0 -

The Posting Date of the G/L Entry Table is tyope date. In Crystal if you show the TYPE it comes up as date See Here:

When you create the parameter you should choose type Date not Datetime. See Here:

ok thanks for the suggestion BUT
for one i am running crystal v8.0 (yes an older version)
second i already tried to run my parameter as just a date field, but it doesnt let me pick anything under G/L Entry for a defualt value.
also i cant show field type in the in field explorer, thats not an option in v8.0 i know you can in 11, but my trial of 11 is over.
the problem is that crystal is truely seeing the date fields as DateTime.
i am assuming no one can reproduce what i am seeing- So it Goes.0 -
hey...you did get me thinking about something
i went to report options, i set convert date-time field to = To Date field,
and it worked!
thanks,
