EP Install error on x64 machine with MOSS2007

I'm trying to install EP 5.0 on a x64 server with MOSS2007 with all prerequisites installed. During install I get an error saying that WSS is not installed and the installation is rolled back.
Since MOSS2007 is installed there should be no need for installing WSS separately. I guess that would noly mess things up.
Any ideas?
