This may stem from me not knowing enough about accounting, or maybe not enough about the report. But I do understand the purpose of it, so that's why I'm a little confused.
Invoice 123 Posted on 01/03/2006 for $61 with Dimension 1 Code of "02".
Three payments on 01/05/2007, 03/09/2007, and 05/04/2007 respectively, each of which has a Dimension 1 Code of "02", totaling $60.
Write off (no document type, but same document number as the original invoice) posted and applied on 05/17/2007. Dimension 1 Code is "01". Amount is $1.
Now, we run the AAP report as of 12/31/2006 by Transaction Date. This gives the expected amount of still owing $61 because those payments happened after the as of date.
Here's the problem. We type in a value for "Global Dimension 1 Filter". If we use "01" for the code the value on the report is $60.00. I would think that nothing would show because as of 12/31/2006 there was only the invoice. Nothing related to this document had a dimension of "01". The same holds true when I use "02", it returns $1 instead of the full amount. No payments or write offs had been made as of this date.
I'm guessing if it is a problem that it lies within these data items:
Vendor Ledger Entry ClosesAfterAgeDateEntry
Vendor Ledger Entry ClosedByAfterAgeDateEntry
If someone could explain why this works the way it does I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Take a look at 5.0 aging report. Now when you filter on dim 02 you'll see 61 and if you filter on 01 you'll won't see any balance.
