Drop Shipment functionality on Service Orders

Hello,

We're considering adding a drop shiment functionality for Service orders, similar to the existing functionality on sales orders.

Is there anybody out there that has some experience with this, or who can give us some tips & tricks?

A drop shipment is goods sent directly to customer from the vendor.

Could you explain the workflow for service orders?

Thank you for your response.

I'll trie to give an example:
- A Service Order is created for a certain customer;
- On that service order you'll use a spare part that is not in stock;
- Instead of just placing an order with the supplier and delivery in the central warehouse, the supplier directly sends the part to the customer.
