Hi.
I would like to know if there is any way in Navision to can execute two or more processes at the same time using the same session in Navision 4.0. For example, when the users run reports they can't do no anything with te current session until the report execution finishes. Can anybody help me?
Thank you very much!!

Hello Fornavision.
I suggest to open another navision client and work on second client.
Navision client is single threaded process.0 -
Another idea is to modification which allows users to queue up reports they want to run. The NAS then polls the queue and runs the report, and it saves the resulting html in a blob.
Of course, you would have to make sure to allow your design to pass in a variable number of parameters.
The user run client could run its a single instance codeunit that monitors the table to see if the NAS has run its report or not yet. If it has, the user could be notified to view the results.
Pretty good idea, if I do say so myself. If you'd like to know more about how to implement this, let me know.0 -
Or if you're using SQL, re-create the report in Reporting Services. This solution is probably waaaay off topic though.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

It's also really difficult for the process intensive reports he's probably running. Can you imagine Adjust Cost in Reporting Services? Or Inventory Valuation? Or Calculate Plan? Yikes.0

we are going way off topic, and the solutions are way too complicated and expensive.
It's a lot easier to double click on an icon on a desktop.0 -

Yeah, but that costs a concurrent user session though...
