No series in recurring journal

what is the logic why navision does not allow assigning of no series in a recurring journal batch?

    In the Journal line you must enter Document no. manually. This can not be generated by a No. series as you already discovered.

    This no. is a temporary no. which will be replaced by an automatic no. generated by the Document no. series that you must set up in the Journal template / batch.

    Thus you will have a unique Document no. per posting every time a periodic journal entry is posted.
