Installation of Navision 5.0 using Active Directory

Hi Folks

I have a customer who is using Navision version 5.0 and they are asking me if they can use Active Directory to install Navision clients since both AD and Nav are owned by Microsoft. Does anyone have any idea if I can install this via Active Directory.

Is there any way to install Navision client without being on the client PC?

Thank you

    I have not found a way the only tool I know that you can do this with is Microsoft Systems Management now is called MOM.

    Yes, AD has nothing with Application installation. You need to use MOM or other management system to install the NAV. Or some login script, but it will be hard to find out if NAV is already installed or not.

    You can use GPO.
    I ususaly create blank database.fdb and database.fbk files (0kb), because modifying .msi paket is not so simple.

    "Is there any way to install Navision client without being on the client PC?" Do you mean running client? It is simple. Put it on network share and run it. But you could have some issues with dlls (MAPI, Outlook sync etc).

    GPO = Group Policy.
    Use Software packages under Computer Config.
