large table performance issue

I've a table with 6.258.350 records.
Sometimes I've a form that makes the request on a Key based field.
Sotimes it takes just seconds to do it, but there are some others that it takes mores than 15 min. ](*,) It used to work fine all the time!!
It seems is rebuilding the Index. But i'm sure the "setrange" is made on a Key field. What may be wrong? :-k
PS - I've triyed the navision Optimizatiuon but it continues the same
