When you want to renumber objects to another range.
1)
Let's say you did some development for a customer in the 50000 range, but it is so good that you want to create an add on of it. Then you need to renumber those objects to a new range (usually > 1000000)
2)
you need to copy some functionality of another localized database into your own. You're not permitted to execute objects of that localisation. then you need to renumber as well...
