NODBC and choose company

Hi. I have upgraded from 3.70 to 4.0. My customer has several companies in his database. He has several Excel sheets with connetcion C/ODBC. In Excel, when you choose to Refresh Data, the ODBC dialog box appears, allowing you to change the company you want to get data from.
In NODBC, the mentioend dialog box does not apear, and you can't choose company. Is this by design? Is there some parameter (regestry or otherwise) missing? Any other way of choosing wich company to use when you are in Excel?
The only option that I can see is to create a NODBC connection for each company, have multiple excel-workbooks and so on. There has to be another way?
