Greyed out controls on sub form

Hey guys,

I have a set of sub forms that each have a frame on. In the frame ive placed a set of fields. I have 4 of these forms, and on the main form - depending on an option field on the header record - i display the correct sub form (the rest are set as not visible).

The weird thing is - some of the fields on SOME of the sub forms appear with grey backgrounds (but are editable as usual). IOn a form with say 3 white text boxes - there are say 8 grey. I can edit the contents of each.

I cant see any difference on the properties of each form/fields.

Any idea whats going on?

If controls have grey backgrounds instead of white, that is usually due to a lack of resources of the PC. I have seen this on all types of forms ( old main menu, Document Header etc.) on overstrained servers.

It happens on a local version and the server so i dont think its that.
