Collation Question

I've searched the forum and read the relevant section of the Application Designer Guide, but I still have one specific question about collation.

The Application Designer Guide states "We recommend that you use a Windows collation when you create a database. This
type of collation closely follows the collation rules of the operating system."

My question is, what are the negative impacts (if any) of using SQL collation instead of Windows?

I understand how the sorting will be different, but is performance or anything like that impacted?

Thanks!
Jen

No,there is no impact. Just the SQL collations are there "for backward compatibility" (were used in previous SQL version). It is just "it is better"...
