Hi Experts,
I am new to nav. Up to know i Know only how to import master data like customer, vendor, item details to navision.But i am very curious to know is it possible to import sales orders and purchase orders to navision. If Yes what is the solution to import in to navision.
I would be very thankful if I cud get as many suggestions .:-k

I am newbee to navision. I could not understand u r solution &suggestion.
I need baby steps to understand.Could u explain step by step procedure
to solve this problem.What my doubt is how to import data in to both tables .That means do i need to enter both tables data in one excel sheet. Like this i have lot of doubts. So could u explain Step by step procedure.

You can do it anyway you want. If you would rather have two dataports, one for the headers & one for the lines, that's fine.
the way we do it is have one dataport with two dataitems.
1) sales Header 2) sales line.
*note no indentation (or) "linking of the tables!!!" won't work in dataports.
first we import all the headers.. (Example)
Order #1 Cust #a1
Order #2 Cust #a2
Order #3 Cust #a3
then we import all the line data (Example)
Order #1 Line1 Item 123 Qty1
Order #1 Line2 Item 234 Qty1
Order #2 Line1 Item 123 Qty1
Order #2 Line2 Item 234 Qty1
Order #3 Line1 Item 123 Qty1
Order #3 Line2 Item 234 Qty1
that's the basic principle!!
One way to test it is to enter an order and use the dataport to EXPORT that order into a text file and see how the data looks. That is how you need to make the datafile appear for IMPORTING too.
