Why you don’t upgrade to NAV 4.0 SP3 instead of SP2?

SP2 in SQL Server 2005 don’t work quite well. To use SQL 2005 I recommend SP3. I don’t know you will also upgrade objects to SP2. SP2 in terms of coding was a version to forget. That version has many problems and you will have to apply many hotfixes

Thanks for the info. we are currently on SQL Server 2000 database NAV4.00 SP2 and planning to move to NAV4.00 SP2 SQL 2005.
we are facing performance issue with SQL Server 2000 database NAV4.00 SP2.Our's is a big database. ( 6 months operations 24 GB).

Is this advisable to move to NAV4.00 SP3 SQL 2005 only executables ( No objects upgrade)? Will this improve performance?

If you are seeing performance issues with a 24 GB database I would suspect that a move to SQL 2005 alone will not solve them.
There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

I guess you will not have great performance improve in SQL 2005. If you search in this forum you will have several tips about performance tuning in SQL, you better start there before upgrade to SQL 2005.

    Are the fundamental setting allright?

    I'm thinking about:
    - hardwareconfig
    - software install
    - maintenance plans

first check this, then think of upgrading...
