Populate a Navision table directly from outside?...

Hi everybody,

I have an important question concerning the table Navision...

In fact, I would like to populate a Navision table directly from an other software...(For exemple Sharepoint 2007).

Any idea if it's possible? Any idea of the problems it could be engendered ?

Thanks for your answer... [-o<

Yes that's possible. But best solution is creating a new table and adding records in that table. Then a report or codeunit could be running by the sheduler or Nas to transfer this data to a standard navision table. By using this method, the logic tied to the fields and the insert/modify triggers can be run, which is not the case if you upload a standard Navision table from a non navision client.
If your codeunit or report is looking every, lets say 5 seconds, then it looks like your application is reacting immediately.

    Hi,

Thanks for your answer. Ok for the new table, I'll create it but How can I ask to the windows scheduler (If you mean the Windows scheduler) to run a report and transfert the data into a standard navision table ? You're right, I would like to look every minutes (More or less) if there are new invoice in a special table navision and ask after to the user if he wants to import the new invoices. How can I do this exactly ? ](*,)

How can I use and configure report or NAS for this in fact ?

    Thanks again for your help,

    I appreciate it

    Hi,

I think what he meant is Navision Job Scheduler.

Go to Administration, Application Setup, Job Scheduler.

You can set it to run a Report / Codeunit at a scheduled intervals.

The drawback is, it consumes 1 user license.
