Calling a Navision Process from within Visual Basic

I am in the process of writing a Visual Basic.NET application that will interface with Navision SQL tables. I would like to be able to call/run a Navision posting routine from within my VB app.

I know that I can start my Navision client from within VB, but does anyone have experience passing parameters including usename and password or executing codeunits in this manner.

I know this might be a long shot but it would simplify the processes that I am working with.
