The following message came from the server

I have a custom report that sometimes gives me an error ("The following message came from the server"). After the first error, i then receive another message ("You cannot use the file because it is being used by another process"). Is this a NAV record locking issue? Is this a Server issue? I've looked at the Event Logs on the server but do not see anything that appears to be related. Any help?

Are you running an anti virus on the server?

You need to skip the navision database and the server folder.

Administrator conformed that Navision folder is excluded from Antivirus.
Restarting a Navision service fixed the issue, but issue repeating every so often

check if maybe some one is trying to incorrectly backup the Navision database (FDB file). If they are have them work with your Navision team to set it up correctly. If its not anti-virus and not backup then check for network sniffing.
