What do you mean with reporting tools?

For reporting, you can use reports. The standard Reports or your own created reports.

as i think any good programmer can never be satisfied with the performance of navision standered reports and reporting tool.

i have used crystal reports for more than 10 years and i found
crystal is 10 times better than it.U can use it with navision too.

    check out Jet Reports
    http://www.jetreports.com

It's an add-on on Excel that connects direct to the DB.
Even end-users who know the DB structure are able to create reports.

Sure they approve. That's why they offer a ODBC-driver and CFRONT-toolkit to let other applications have access to the Dynamics data.

Other reporting tools are Reporting Services (from SQL), Targit, Business Objects.

Take a look at this thread Flowfield & Crystal Report on SQL as you can see, there are cases of people using Crystal reports on Navision EIGHT years ago.

So feel safe that they are a good combination.
