Locking Question

Hi all,

Im a little baffled by Navision locking here. There is a user here that posts a large job once a day.

During this time everyone is able to post purchases and sales perfectly. No issues.

However there is a scheduled job that fills a Gen. Journal for me. If I go in while the user is working to POST this journal I am told

"Journal Dimension Table is locked by user XXXXXX".
or
"Gen. Journal Line Table is locked by user XXXXXX".

What is the posting of sales and purchases orders doing that posting my Gen Journal is not? How come I am locked and they arent? The posting of sales orders USES the Gen. Journal, so surely it should be blocked too.

Is there something I can do to my automatically filled Gen. Journal to allow it to bypass the locks like Sales Orders do.

The Navision posting routing use the Journal lines temporary which means there is no locking.

If you only use the Journal lines a a buffer you can do the same.

If you look at codeunit 80 & 90 you should see that the variable has the temprorary property.
