BOM for raw material

Hi
Is it possible to use the same item on its BOM,if yes how it can be done.
I am using NAV4 sp3.
My problem is that, I get steel bar as raw material which after carrying
out certain process will be sold as steel bar as finished goods.

As the form of item changes, there must be two items.
You use one as a raw material for the other one (FG).

If the processes carried over the item are external, then it is possible through subcontracting.

You should make it as different item as you have done the value addition to the steel bar purchased.
