Exchange Production BOM Item

Dear all,
I have a database with 500,000 records on table 99000772(Prod BOM Line). Normally, each prod BOM has almost 150 or more components.
When I exchange prod BOM item to a new one the harddisk was always running ceaselessly and Navision was not response untill I kill the process. ](*,)
Is the quantity of records huge?
Does anyone have idea for this problem?
