Has anyone seen the following message?

"There was a time-out in an attempt to establish a connection with the server (TCP/IP error ETIMEDOUT)."

There is no problem pinging the server though.

When are you getting this message? When you try to login?

try using the server IP addy instead of the Name.
    here's some other suggestions

pinging simply means that the hostname (or resolved IP) can be reached but it's not the TCP protocol which is used and according to the error, it's TCP related. When a navision client tries to connect to the server, it uses port 2407 as the default port. This can be overwritten when using the HOSTS and SERVICES file from windows.

But before going into details, did you try to disable your firewall or do you have a transparent proxy ?

I've been out of town (and therefore out of the loop) for the past few days so I'm just getting back to this.

Thanks very much for the suggestions, I will test them now and respond with the results.

I am unable to recreate the issue at this time. Should the problem return, I will try the suggested steps. For now the issue can be considered solved.

    Thanks for the help.
