Reservation issues with subassemblies

It appears that firm reservations are made between production orders of finished goods and the production orders of subassemblies.

For example: Two production orders (Item A and Item B) are created that use the same subassembly item (Item C). Two production orders are created for Item C.

If the one of production orders for Item C is finished but it was created based on the demand for Item A then the item can not be used to finish Item B.

Is there anyway around this?

They would like to produce the Item C but not be restricted on which production order they can use that material for.

So if I can't prevent the reservations from happening is there a way to cancel the reservations manually?

If the priorities of the items shift and I need to consume Item C to make Item A but the only qty available was created for Item B then how can I get Navision to let me do this?

    What work-around is available?
