The system failed to update Navision Attain Database Server Service Connection Point in Active Directory.
The registry entry does not exist.
Does anyone know what this means? just started seeing it.
HI,
it seems as if you are running a Navision Database Server in an Active Directory environment but without running the AD schema extension script to add the server to AD. This would allow to search for native Navision Server in the database open dialog in the client, similar to the search for SQL Server within FINSQL.
I am running Navision under an Active Directory environment, but I am not using that for authentication to access the navision database. I am using Database Server Authentication for access. It does look like i have one user in the "Windows Login" area under Tools, Security, Windows Login, but i never use that account to connect to the database. I am possibly using it for scheduled tasks for authentication to the server; could that be why i am receiving this error? how do i fix it? simply run the schemaxt.exe file? is there anything special i need to do?

whenever the database server is run, it checks for AD and once found, tries to query the global catalog for Navision Server information. As the global catalog doesn't contain any Navision info structure, the error is created.
Simply run the schemaxt and restart the database server, that's it.
