Hallo dear specialists!

I am a Lecturer Dr. Eng., I teach at Polytechnic University of Bucharest and I work (part-time) as a business consultant in Romania. I try to find an add-on for MS Dynamics Nav Sp3 specially designed for Engineering-To-Order (ETO) and/or Design-To-Order (DTO) manufacturing environment, more precisely for steel structures and for complex equipment manufacturing. This type of business is very specific, in fact is a project manufacturing process (in house with limited on-site activities) and has the following main requirements:
- Flexibility of “customization”, because in a project are defined many unique parts (hundreds items, BOMs and routings);
- Periodically archiving of projects’ data and project restore functionality from an archive when is needed;
- Flexible budgeting functionality;
- Multi-project grouping (main project and subprojects);
- Advanced cost price calculation module (no calculation standards);
- Procurements are made per project;
- Break down work structure and resource allocation per project tasks (activities);
- Gantt chart and resources allocation & load control tool or integration with MS Project or similar apps;
- Subcontracting, machine and machine planning;
- Integration or interfacing tool with PDM (PLM) or other CAD apps (there are many changes from engineering till completion), moreover this functionality facilitate product design data import into ERP.

In ETO manufacturing environment, must be defined a huge number of “customized items”, “customized” BOM and “customized” routings, that are used only once, this unique “entities” (characterized by many attributes) are defined based on customer specifications and for that reason, product data and all business process (order procedure) must be very flexible and efficiently managed (in a separated tables or in a separate data base, in order to facilitate the archiving process). The “standard” planning tools MPS and MRP are replaced with another “specific” planning tool such a Project Requirement Planning (PRP).
From 1999 since 2001 I have worked and implemented Baan IV – PCS module, an ERP solution with a strong ETO solution. Maybe some of you are familiarized or know about it.
Few years ago I had read on the internet about a ETO solution (add-on) from a NSC Navision from Germany, but unfortunately I lost the link.

Can anybody help me, please?

I will be very grateful for yours help and I hope to establish a good collaboration in the future with one of yours (person or company).

Thanks in advance,

Gigi Mazareanu
