Managing items with different version numbers?

Hi

I have a question regarding item handling.
Our client has items which only differ in the a version number.
For example a manual for a bike which has version 1.0 and 1.1.
And now I don't want to create an item per version number.

Can I manage this under one item number in Nav?
My first idea was to create different locations with the version number.
But I'm not sure if there is a "smarter" way...

Have you thought about using the item variants functionality? I think this will achieve what you require.

Why don't you use Variants for this? Normally it is used for eg. colors (a blue bike, a red bike) but you could also use it for your different versions. Stock is maintained on combination Item/Variant/Location.
