reduce the backup file size

i have a DB whose backup size with just one company selected(data+objects) reaches easily 2 GB,

Is there some way i can delete the transactional data without deleting the MASTER file data resulting in a smaller backup file and shorter time to restore?

This newly restored DB is just for demonstration purpose only.

Deleting transaction data will be cumbersome.

Instead you can create a new company in the same database and then using the Setup Checklist form in the Administration menu, the master data can be replicated to the new company.
After having replicated the data, a backup of the new company can be taken which comprises only of the master data.

What is the size of the DB? that the backup itself is of 2GB? Have you tried to delete the change log..?
