New FILE-Functions in NAV 5.0

Hi,

I just played around a little with C/SIDE in NAV 5.0 and found the new FILE-Functions:

DOWNLOAD
DOWNLOADFROMSTREAM
UPLOAD
UPLOADTOSTREAM

These are not contained in C/SIDE Reference Guide or Application Designers Guide.

Does anyone know, what these functions are good for, and how these can be used?

they will be usefull when 5.1 comes around,

since all the code will run server side, you will need the up and download functions if you want to export some data and get it available at the client machine.

If you want to import data, the same applies.

Yes, they are prepared for the 3-tier architecture, where all C/AL code is executed on the mid-tier and you need to transfer files between the server and client.
