hello everyone. I searched the forum but didn't find anything on this.
I want to put a custom date field on my item table. I would like to put an InitValue := WORKDATE, so that anytime a new item is created, the system logs the date it was entered, and I'm trying to do it without asking our NSC to put code behind the table or form.
I found that InitValue will let me define the date as a day of the week, but it doesn't understand TODAY or WORKDATE. Since i'm looking for an accurate date, the weekday doesn't help much.
Is there a syntax for defining InitValues of Date fields, beyond Sunday..Saturday?
thanks!
kind of fell into this...

If you have access to the code, just go to the onInsert method and type
My Blog - nav.education
Creating a field called "Start Date" Type Date
On the item table add
OnInsert()
"Start Date" := WORKDATE;
Unfortunately It is not possible without access to the c/al code
